  9. YOU DON'T KNOW JACK is a fast-paced game where you are the contestant on a TV trivia game show. YOU DON'T KNOW JACK
  10. can be played by 1 to 3 players. The goal of YOU DON'T KNOW JACK is to rack up cash. If you're the player with the
  11. most cash at the end of the game, you're the winner.

  13. This YOU DON'T KNOW JACK demo is a tasty little snack to whet your appetite for the real thing. Just follow the
  14. instructions below to install YOU DON'T KNOW JACK and then prepare your skull for a gauntlet or irreverent trivia.
  15. The demo contains 5 questions. The retail version of YOU DON'T KNOW JACK includes more than 800 questions for over 20
  16. hours of game play.

  18. To run the demo your computer needs to meet some minimum requirements.

  20. Windows System Requirements and Installation Instructions To run this demo your IBM PC or compatible computer must
  21. meet these minimum system requirements: 
  22. - 25 MHz 486SX or better microprocessor
  23. - Windows 3.1X, Windows for Workgroups, or Windows 95 
  24. - 8Mb of RAM
  25. - 9Mb of free hard disk space
  26. - Video display capable of at least 640x480 resolution with 256 colors 
  27. - Sound Blaster 16 or compatible multimedia sound card

  29. To install the demo, follow these instructions: 
  30. 1. Unzip (using the -d option) the file ydkjdemo.zip to extract the demo. If you are running Windows 3.1 
  31. and do not already have the WinG libraries installed on your PC, make sure to download wing.zip from the Toasted
  32. World Wide Web site and then use pkunzip -d to unpack the WinG installation kit.

  34. 2. If you are running Windows 95, skip to Step 3. If you are running Windows 3.1 and do not already have the WinG
  35. libraries installed, change to the WinG directory and run setup.exe. When prompted choose to install the WinG
  36. run-time libraries only. You do not need the development kit. When the install is complete, restart Windows 3.1.

  38. 3. Change to the ydkjdemo directory on your hard hard drive. (This directory should have been created when you 
  39. run the self-extracting archive.)

  41. 4. If you are running Windows 3.1, double click on jack.exe to launch the game. If you are running 
  42. Windows 95, double click on jack32.exe to launch the 32-bit version of the game.

  45. Playing the Game
  46. Grab some friends, turn the volume all the way up and start the game. When you're asked to choose a category, press
  47. 1, 2, or 3 to make your selection. If You Snooze, I Choose - pick your category quickly or the host will choose one
  48. for you!

  50. To play YOU DON'T KNOW JACK, you gotta be smart and you gotta be quick. Each player gets a buzzer - YOU DON'T KNOW
  51. JACK uses the Q, B and P keys on the keyboard. The first player to buzz in gets first crack at the question. Get the
  52. question right, and you get some cash. Get the question wrong, and you'll lose some cash. Questions are timed. You
  53. gotta buzz in before the timer runs out, so you gotta answer fast - no stalling allowed in this game.
